🌍 Explore Africa Across London

Over the past year, The School of African Languages (SOAL) has had the privilege of delivering our Explore Africa! workshops across London — working with libraries, schools, and community spaces to create joyful, meaningful learning experiences for children and families.

From bustling borough libraries to vibrant school halls, each session has been filled with energy, curiosity, and connection.

 

Learning That Feels Like an Adventure

Our Explore Africa! workshops are designed to take children on a journey, not through textbooks, but through experience.

Children and families have explored:

• African geography and countries
•  Languages and greetings
• Music, rhythm and storytelling
• Culture, traditions and flags

Every session is interactive, inclusive, and designed to make learning memorable and fun. It’s not uncommon to see children fully immersed, asking questions, joining in, and even teaching us what they’ve learned by the end!

A Hit With Families and Communities

One of the most special parts of our journey has been seeing families learning together.

Parents, carers, and children all take part in laughing, learning new words, and sharing cultural experiences. These workshops have become more than sessions; they are community moments, where people connect, celebrate diversity, and learn from one another.

We’ve consistently heard:
“When are you coming back?”
and that’s always the best feedback we can receive.

Supporting Schools Across London

Our work in schools has been just as impactful. Delivered by qualified teachers, our workshops align with the curriculum while bringing subjects to life through a STEAM approach with a strong Arts focus.
